The out-of-the-box (OOTB) Now Assist Skills, such as resolution note generation for ITSM or case summarization for CSM, help businesses quickly implement AI solutions with just one click in the Now Assist console. These OOTB skills can be further customized using the prompt management tools to adjust the LLM output or accessibility according to the requirements.


In August 2024, ServiceNow introduced the Now Assist Skill Kit, which allows users to create custom AI skills that go beyond the standard OOTB options. With this tool, users can create their own prompts, add data retrieval logic, and then activate the custom skills via the Now Assist Admin Console. Once activated, these skills can be used throughout the platform in Flows, scripts, and buttons.
